Privacy Policy
It would seem that half of online Americans don't know what a privacy policy is. Well, we can't solve all the world's problems, but at least we can briefly share with you how we gather, store, use and disclose your information.
See what we did there? Read on, we tried to make this as painless as possible.
The reelyActive Privacy Policy
Let's take a moment to discuss how reelyActive will collect, use, protect and disclose personal information.
What is personal information you may ask? Personal information is any information which can identify an individual or through which an individual's identity can be deduced, and which is disclosed to us or which we create within the context of our relationship with the individual.
Did you know that from a legal standpoint, personal information does not include an individual's name, title, business address or business telephone number (i.e. "business card information")? Yeah, we totally thought that was personal information too. Even so, we strive to treat any information that you share with the same level of care.
Why do we collect personal information? Quite simply because our value proposition is to "unlock the value of the data you choose to share". No ulterior motives.
Given your explicit consent, we will facilitate the sharing of your personal information openly on the Internet such that it may be accessed by anyone with the link. Yes, openly on the Internet. Got it? We did our best to put that near the top in the hopes that you’d at least read this far and catch that important tidbit.
Do not despair, personal information will never be disclosed without your explicit consent unless we are compelled to by law.
We protect your personal information by encouraging, to the extent of our capacity, that it is stored on a computer which you own and/or control. Seriously, we totally want to avoid the burden of having to host your personal information. Nonetheless, exceptionally, we may provide a service of convenience to host, on our servers, any personal information you explicitly submit. In this case, you must specify an expiry time no longer than twenty-four (24) hours after which all submitted information will be erased from our servers.
Keep in mind that by submitting your personal information to us, you have consented to our use and disclosure of the personal information for the purposes as outlined in this policy (which, statistically, only a tiny percentage of people will read anyways).
Finally, if we try to be sneaky and change this policy so that we can disclose your personal information, we're still required to obtain your express consent before doing so.
Well, that's it. Wish we had more to tell you but honestly, we really want to have as little as possible to do with your personal information aside from enabling you to share it when you want, where you want and with whom you want!
